Celebrity Apprentice – Week Four: The Teams Sell Tickets on Broadway
As last week’s winning project manager, Tito Ortiz presents
a $20,000 check to his charity, the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. As
an ultimate fighter, children comprise a large portion of Ortiz’s fan base and
he is happy to give back to them.
Empresario Needs a Win
This week’s project is to sell tickets to four current
Broadway shows. The team that raises the most money will win the challenge.
Empresario elects Marilu Henner as their project manager. Henner has appeared
six times in various Broadway shows so her knowledge and contacts will be a key
factor in trying to get the team a win. With losses in the previous three
weeks, Empresario is desperate to win a challenge.
Piers Morgan and Stephen Baldwin Argue
Vincent Pastore is selected as team leader for Hydra.
Pastore is a veteran of stage and screen, and will appear in an upcoming
production of Chicago. Once again, however, Stephen Baldwin and Piers
Morgan prove that they’re the strongest personalities and true leaders of the
team. While they argue passionately about how to proceed, they still work
together to make Hydra successful. This is a lesson the members of Empresario
could learn from.
Nely Galán Pulls Out Her Little Black Book
Despite her intentions, Nely Galán has been a poor
communicator the last two weeks. She failed to listen to the Kodak executives
last week and talked over the client in the Pedigree challenge the week before.
This week, Galán brags that her personal contact list of people will help her
team win the challenge. She calls several people who agree to donate money. But
will it be enough?
Richard Branson Donates Money
Galán is not the only one who understands the need to use
celebrity connections. On the Hydra team, Morgan contacts millionaire Richard
Branson, who agrees to donate $10,000. Trace Adkins contacts an executive from
EMI Records, who shows up with a $5,000 donation.
As the minutes ticket down, however, Morgan becomes nervous as he realizes Branson’s check has not arrived. If it doesn’t make it within the time limit, it doesn’t count toward the team total. With just minutes to spare, representatives from Virgin Airlines, one of Branson’s many companies, arrive with the promised check.
Omarosa Makes Enemies on Her Team
Branson’s $10,000 puts Hydra at the $33,300 mark, a mere
couple thousand over Empresario’s total of $31,757. Still, it ensures yet
another victory for Team Hydra.
As Empresario project manager, Henner brings Carol Alt and Jennie Finch back with her to face Trump in the boardroom. Alt and Finch have become targets of their more aggressive teammates, most notably Omarosa. Finch says little to defend herself, but Alt says Omarosa “is like a cancer” who is destroying the team from the inside out. She tells Henner they can’t continue to allow it.
Finch Is a Different Type of Competitor
Finch admits to Trump that she doesn’t have the energy required to truly compete in business. Trump coveys his admiration for her athletic prowess, but agrees that her skills are not suited for corporate life. Finch is fired.
