Sandra Bullock's Oscar Ups and Downs

Sandra Bullock was riding high on multiple Award wins for her “Blind Side” role, taking home the Screen Actors Guild Award, Golden Globe, and Oscar. But all of the glory was fleeting and just eight days after nabbing the top price at the Academy Awards, Bullock’s life was devastated.

 News broke that her husband of eight years, motorcycle master and reality TV star Jesse James, had been unfaithful. A tattoo model and exotic dancer named Michelle “Bombshell” McGee came forward claiming that she had an eight month affair with James while he was married to Bullock.

A few days later, sources were reporting that Bullock had moved out of the couple’s home and that James had gone to an Arizona rehab for undisclosed issues. Stories surfaced of more alleged mistresses and all signs pointed to the imminent split of one of Hollywood’s favorite, if not most unlikely, couples.

Yet, when the day finally came for Bullock to announce that she was leaving James, the news became almost secondary. In an interview with “People” magazine in which she confirmed that divorce papers had been filed, “The Proposal” star also announced she had adopted a baby.

The joy of the adoption almost single handedly eclipsed the unhappy word of the divorce. And all eyes turned to 3 1/2 month old Louie Bardo from New Orleans. Four years ago, Bullock and James began the adoption process. Not wanting to use any star power to unfairly circumvent the normal procedures, the couple dutifully waited until a baby came their way.

 In January, amidst the award season craziness, Bullock and James got the call that they were to be the proud parents of a baby boy. They quietly took Louie Bardo into their home and secluded him from the media buzz until they were ready to announce him to the world. Only a small group of friends and family members knew about the new arrival.
Now that Bullock and James are officially calling it quits, the actress has filed for single parent adoption and will be the sole legal guardian of Louie. As for the new man in her life Bullock told people, “He's just perfect, I can't even describe him any other way.”
